Scholarship Guidelines

“The Joey Cushman Memorial Scholarship Fund” was established in memory of Corporal Joseph (Joey) Cushman of the Arlington Police Department, Arlington, Texas.  His legacy of enthusiastic spirit and community service will be celebrated by providing scholarships to community youth.  The scholarship value is $500.  

The requirements for scholarship application include:

1.      Attendance must be at an accredited junior college, community college or four-year college or university.

2.      Applicants must complete the Scholarship Application Form in its entirety.

3.      All of the following must be enclosed with the application form:

Copy of class schedule or acceptance letter
            Copy of current High School or College transcript
            Copy of SAT scores  
            Current photograph  

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION:    May 3

Recipient will be notified by phone and by mail. The Scholarship will be paid directly to recipient’s school registrar.
